My name is Heather Broadbridge-Longtin. I created this blog when I first became engaged. My life has changed in so many ways since then I am a wife, a mother but no longer a daughter. All of these things have shaped me into who I am. I am about to embark on yet another challenge or name to add to the list - business woman. It's a small step toward my ultimate goal of "what do I want to be when I gorw up".

House Update...
Well, we are back on the market. The deal on the house fell through. They had five days to firm up the offer and they couldn't so back to square one. In a way it's for the better because Jeff & I weren't too happy about the deal anyway. At least we've had one round so now we know how it works and we will be better at it the next time around.

Love is...
Jeff bought me a photo frame a couple of Christmas' ago. It's an appropriate day to share what it says:"Love is life's most beautiful mystery. It often comes as a surprise, filling the heart with sudden Joy. Selfless and giving, love places the Happiness of another before one's own. It inspires with its Passion, nutures with its Generosity, and enriches with its Spirit. There is no limit to its magic.
Love is Eternal.
Yes, I cried...
To love, from Heather & Jeff

Happy Valentines Day to All
In honour of Valentines Day I have decided to share a few poems about love with you.
Hope you enjoy. Feel free to use them if you have not gotten your sweetheart a card. Woo her with words...
Trip over love and you can get up,
Fall in love and you fall forever.
When I hand you my love,
I hand you my life-my awakening moments and
all of my dreams.
Give me a kiss, and to that kiss a score;
Then to that twenty, add a hundred more:
A thousand to that hundred:so kiss on,
To make that thousand up a million.
Treble that million, and when that is done,
Let's kiss afresh, as when we first begun.
-Robert Herrick-
To those who may be down on love remember this one:
To love more is the only way to heal a broken heart.
Happy Valentines to you all!!

Sold???
Happy Birthday, Heather!
That's right...it's my birthday too! We don't exactly like the fact that our birthday is a day apart...well 4 years and a day but we can't change it!We didn't do much for my birthday either so I guess that's fair! We had a showing at 11AM so sleeping in wasn't even an option. Jeff made me a nice breakfast and he and the kids got me a Muskoka chair. After breakfast it was a race to get the house back in shape. We hung out with Marlene, Sean & Aidan while the showing was going on. We got a call from our realtor to come back to the house as we had an offer. I will leave out the gorie details about the negotiations but needless to say we accepted the offer. The unfortunate thing is we didn't feel too good afterwards because it was quite rushed so we arent' getting our hopes up too high that the deal will go through. Of course it is a conditional offer so we won't know until the end of the week if the house is SOLD! I'll keep you posted.
After the intense but quick negotiations we went back over to Marlene's. She invited us to stay for dinner which was nice. She gave me a pot of pink tulips, my fav, for my birthday. All I need now is a garden to plant them in!!
When we finally returned home I had a few phone calls to return. I love the singing telegrams I recieved on the machine. Thanks everyone!!
I think next weekend we are all getting together to celebrate the February birthdays...so the real celebration is next weekend. Cheers!
Happy Birthday, Jeff!!

It was Jeff's birthday on Friday. We didn't get a chance to do too much for his special day. When I asked him how he wanted to celebrate his birthday he said he wanted to cuddle up on the couch with me and watch a movie. So that's what we did. Just a quiet night in with, "The 40 Year old Virgin", a pizza and the two of us! In case you're wondering the 40 year old is not Jeff!!

Notes to My mother-in-law
This is my mother-in-law, Pauline. This is one reason I thought it a good idea to put faces to names...now there won't be any confusion. I have called Pauline Mom probably for the last 2 years. It just felt natural. So, I will be referring to Pauline throughout as Mom L.
If Mom L is not with her grandkids, she is out fishing. Red Fisher is what we call her and boy, can she catch 'em. Not that you would believe me from this photo. This was on Lake Muskoka, my family is convinced there isn't any fish in it, except for little "Orca" pictured here.
Mom L and I were talking the other day about wedding ideas I have. She asked me to put a reminder on my website for her. So each month there will be "notes to my mother-in-law" for things that I need her help with, or remind her of...just about anything really. So, Mom here you go...Your mission, if you are willing to accept, is to look for pieces of driftwood and fallen birch trees or other trees that you think may be suitable for the idea we discussed. I won't say what idea because we need to keep everyone in suspense. Don't go out now, wait for spring...don't go freezin your buns off!!! There's lots of time.) I think that was it for now, right??

Putting A Face to the Name
We talk about people we know all the time but not everyone knows who we are talking about. Well, I'm going to solve the mystery. This is my friend Pauline whom I spoke of in my last note. I will try and do this with all the people I speak of so everyone can get familiar with each other. One day in the near future you will all be coming in contact and I want you all to get to know each other and have a great time.
A bit of history...Pauline and I go way back...how far exactly I can't remember...gr. 6 would be my guess. Through the years we have managed to remain good friends. We have seen each other through a lot... break-ups, make ups, fashion gafas, marriage, life & heartache, whatever life has brought us we have helped each other through. It helps that she has a great husband, Ken, as well whom I like just as much. Pauline & Ken have a 5 year old daughter, Megan who is the apple of their eye and the spitting image of Pauline (Pictures of Ken & Megan will follow...)
I could go on about stories of Pauline but since I'm the one getting married I don't want to give her any ammunition...payback is a B*$%ch!!
