Born February 16, 2007
5lbs 5oz
My name is Heather Broadbridge-Longtin. I created this blog when I first became engaged. My life has changed in so many ways since then I am a wife, a mother but no longer a daughter. All of these things have shaped me into who I am. I am about to embark on yet another challenge or name to add to the list - business woman. It's a small step toward my ultimate goal of "what do I want to be when I gorw up".

And the Proud Relatives...
Here is Auntie Heather, GG, Grandpa and Daddy all having a turn with our precious new boy.
He's only a day old but he sure gets around!
The Boneham Family
Austin is home and Aidan is excited to see his baby brother. He is very gentle and wants to get right in there and help.
Going Home...
After a short visit at Gramby & Grandpa's I'm homeward bound. I'm a bit small for my snowsuit right now but give me a few weeks and I'll be filling it out in no time. I don't have to worry about being small I have my big brother to watch over me.

He has Arrived...
Only a day early but early none the less. "Austin Douglas" was not waiting for the date his mother picked for him to be born, he wanted his own birthday. Marlene's water broke sometime after midnight and so the frenzy began. Luckily, she was at Mom & Dad's house. They got dressed and took her to the hospital. Sean was working in Niagera Falls and rushed to Brampton just in time to see his baby boy born. Austin was coming naturally but they still had to do a C-section because the uterus was stretched too much and could have caused some damage. So at 2:18 AM Austin made his appearance.
He weighed in at a whooping 5lbs 5 oz with a full head of dark hair.
His temperature was a little low so they put him in a blanket and under a heat lamp to get his temperature up before they moved him. Guess he wasn't quite done. Mom & Austin are doing fine so I hear. I have yet to talk to Marlene but I'm sure she'll call as soon as she can. Congrats Marlene, Sean & Aidan.
P.S Aidan is going this afternoon to meet his baby brother "Peter Pan" as he calls him.

Mom
Here's my Mom. She looks pretty good eh? Most of you know that my Mom was diagnosed with cancer this fall. It has taken me this long to mention it here on the blog because I wasn't sure if I wanted to talk about it. But it's a reality and something we are dealing with on a day to day basis. That's Mom's attitude "one day at a time". She is doing remarkable well in that department...she is in good spirits and is very positive and has the attitude that she will live to be 100.
She has been going for Chemo treatments since the end of October and just recently had a CAT scan to see how the treatments have been working to battle the cancer. Unfortunately, the results were not what we hoped and the tumour in her liver has grown a significant amount whereas the tumour in the colon has grown only slightly. The Doctor would like to try a different type of treatment. One that is not covered by OHIP. So Mom has to fill out some forms to "ask" the government to pay for this treatment. How rediculous is that. I guess she will continue regular treatment until the gets the "ok".
Because my Mom's cancer is stage 4, which is quite advanced, there is no cure. The focus is on quality of life. So I guess you could say everyday is a gift. I've learned to be more patient with her and focus on "the now."
A friend asked me how I was dealing with all of this...I didn't know how to answer. I don't really know how I'm dealing with it. I'm just going along day by day, being there for Mom when she has appointments or treatment. I think it's time to talk about it...so you may see more entries like this. You're welcome to make comments or give advise. The one thing I know for sure is that I have a lot of support...all I have to do is ask for it.
Thanks for listening...and if you think of it say a little prayer.
3...and 1/2
Here they are...three generations...Grandmother, Mother and grand-Son. Oh, and don't forget the 1/2...new baby to arrive in 10 days.
Hi Daddy!
Aidan loves to talk...here he is on the phone with his Daddy.
Here's Marlene with 10 days to go...and no, that's not a beach ball!

Clearing Away the Snow
Here's Jeff snowplowing one night (and the next night too!) He's also standing infront of a snowbank to demonstrate how high it is. It is now twice that.
If you look closely in the first photo I'm trying to show the amount of snow we received over night. That is one pass of the snowblower and there is about 6 inches there in the driveway. I think that was Sunday morning. Jeff & I had shovelled the driveway Saturday morning only to have to do it again the next morning. Mom came up for the week and we didn't get out much for the snow. She also didn't see Jeff much as he was outside snowploughing most of the time. It was a crazy week.
Dare I say it is snowing now as I write this??? When is Spring???
More snow...

We live up North, so why am I surprised that we have sooo much snow? Here are some pictures of the snow we recieved everyday for a week. Most of you only heard about it...we are living it. While it looks beautiful it is a lot of work to clear. In case you don't really understand how much snow fell...wait there's more pictures....
