Good News....

On my last update I told you that I was put on bedrest and had to see the Dr again, at the hospital, on monday. Well, we went for our appointment Monday morning and things still looked a little bleak. They hooked me up to the fetal monitor to see how the baby is doing. As well I had to click a button every time I felt the baby move. For the next 45 minutes I lay listening to the baby's heartbeat, which after awhile sounded like horses galloping, and recording every movement. I could also see the baby's heartrate go up and down. Every time Bumpkin moved the heartrate would go up, which is a good thing, it is reassuring if it goes up after moving. It was amazing how much it went up. If fluctuated from 135-175. As neat as all of this may sound, it was a little nerve wracking. Then it was my turn. After relaxing for 45 minutes, the nurse took my blood pressure. It was still up 126/94. Anything over 90 is not good. So, when the Dr came in to see me he said I was still on bedrest and i would be monitored closely over the next few weeks. He also indicated that i would probably not go to term due to my blood pressure - they would probably take the baby sooner. If, of course, my bloood pressure remained high. He said he wanted to see me again on Wednesday in his office. So home I went to put my feet up.

Wednesday morning, after very little sleep the night before, off to the Dr. I went. The nurse took my blood pressure and she said it looked good, it was down. She did it again to be sure and sure enough it was, 122/84. Horray!!! While the Dr. was glad to see it down, he still wants me to take it easy and see me again next week. For now, I am good again! Yeah me!!

Until next week.....

I have added a few pictures & events that we have been to recently that i haven't had a chance to post yet. Check it out below.....

Week 33

Here I am 33 weeks into my pregnancy now. I thought I was still doing good, minus the swollen feet until I went for my check up this past Wednesday. My blood pressure went up. The nurse looked at me and i could tell she wasn't happy. When she said it was my blood pressure I was surprised because it has been fine, thus far. I wondered if my swollen feet had anything to do with my BP but they have been swollen for sometime and this is the first time my BP has gone up. She was concerned which was enough for me. The Dr. on the other hand didn't seem too concerned at first but then he decided to put me on bedrest because it was probably "just a blip". So strict bedrest until Monday and then i have to go to the Birthing unit at RVH (barrie hospital) and get checked out again. He also decided to send me for the second glucose test for gestational diabetes. He wasn't concerned 2 weeks ago but now he is. Apparently, the high end of normal is 7.8 and I was 8.3 which to me is higher than normal but hey I'm no DR. So, I will get the results on Monday when I go see him again. I'm crossing my fingers.
Two weeks ago when i was there Bumpkin was quiet the day before and that morning, so I mentioned it. He told me to do a fetal movement count, I have to feel "Bumpkin" move 10 times in 2 hours. Just like when you are feeling rotten and finally get to see the Dr. you feel better well the baby was similar to that. Just after i mentioned it to him "Bumpkin" started doing flip flops for the rest of the day - which, of course, I was happy about.
So as I write this my feet are up and if they aren't Jeff is sure to give me a gentle reminder. It's been worth it, I have feet again and as long as Bumpkin & I are healthy I will do whatever it takes. There's still lots of Grey's Anatomy I still haven't seen....

Until Monday..........

P.S. I hope to have some new pics for your view pleasure.

A day on the water

Jeff was on holidays the first week of July. On this particular day we launched the boat in the Severn River, right beside us, and took it all the way to Sparrow Lake. It was about an hour or so boat ride. It was really nice. Once we got to Sparrow we fished. Jeff had a great day of fishing. He caught about 8 pike & lost 4 right beside the boat. I didn't catch a thing except for some rays.
I am about 31 weeks along in the top photo. Pictured below is me, trying to stay warm - it got quite cool on our way home - and our dog Zorro. He was cold too!
